Group Agreement

We ask that all members read and carefully observe our Long Covid Cuppa Group Agreement below. If needed please have the agreement read to you.

This is important so that everyone knows what is expected and respected in all of our Cuppa Group activities, on Facebook, in our Cuppa Meetings and in all our other online and in person activities.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you might have on the agreement or membership.

Long Covid Cuppa Group Agreement

The group is a place for people living with Long COVID to come together and give/receive peer support, learn more about services and activities that might help them and to spend time in a supportive space with others who understand what life with Long COVID is like

The group is NOT a place to receive medical advice or a diagnosis, none of the group members are health professionals who can provide this kind of help but we CAN provide support and guidance, share our own experiences and what has worked well for us, and signpost members to other sources of help

Feedback, ideas and suggestions from group members about how the group can be most beneficial are very welcome – let us know what you’d like to see, do and learn about at the group!

Mutual respect and kindness is essential for the group to continue being a valued space for all of us, please remember that Long COVID impacts people from all walks of life and they may have had a difficult journey ahead of attending the group – if you are worried that anything is impacting on the group being a kind and respectful space please let the group committee members know

During the meeting can we ask that people have their mobile phones on silent especially during group activities.  You can leave the hall at any time to answer calls but please do not do this in the hall where main meeting is held

From time to time we take pictures during the meeting.  It is agreed that these pictures can be used in the group and externally if required.  If you do not wish to have your picture to be used please make this known at the time of the photographs being taken and we will thereafter delete any photos that you are part off.

Confidentiality is important too, put simply ‘what is said in the group, stays in the group’ – with very few exceptions where safeguarding concerns must be taken seriously – if you are concerned that group confidentiality is/has been breached please let the group committee members know

That said all group members are welcome to share only the personal information they are comfortable with, you don’t have to go into detail about your own life or experiences of Long COVID to benefit from attending the group

Where a group member acts inappropriately, and against the group agreement, the group committee members will first seek to speak to the individual about their actions and quickly resolve the matter, where this does not improve the situation the individual may be asked to leave the group – this is NOT something we ever want to have to do but we must ensure the group is a safe and comfortable space for all members
